About Busan

Busan (부산, 釜山; formerly romanized as Pusan) is a large port city located in the south-eastern province of South Gyeongsang, South Korea. It is the country's second city with beautiful beaches, mountains, spas, and renowned seafood. Busan has become a key tourist destination, especially during the summer when the beaches are packed end to end. The vibrant seafood market of Jagalchi is the most famous seafood market in Korea and walking through the older parts of the city such as Gamcheon villiage offers a sense of the past in contrast with the luxury skyscrapers along the beaches. It is also home to many events and festivals, such as the Busan International Film Festival, and the Busan International Comedy Festival (BICF) which is held in August.
